Al Día, a publication of The Dallas Morning News currently has a position available for anAccount Executive. This position is responsible for achieving maximum profitability and market penetration by effectively selling the company’s products and related services.
- Manages monthly revenue goals for all accounts in assigned geographic territory, category or list of key accounts.
- Plans and organizes a long-term sales strategy for each client.
- Performs consultative client needs analysis and presents effective solutions to the client.
- Assists Sales Manager and/or Director with negotiation and preparation of advertising contracts.
- Develops a proven track record of sales performance by achieving monthly revenue sales goals.
- Develops new and creative sales products and programs for all customers.
- Maintains monthly, quarterly and annual sales growth expectations.
- Coordinates all “service” aspects of the job for assigned clients.
- Develops and maintains superior working relationships with advertising, accounting and service departments to ensure efficient processing and ad billing and maintain good customer relations and aid in sales growth.
- Prioritizes negotiable elements in the selling process and effectively manages schedule to complete all administrative functions and to establish, service and follow-up on accounts.
- Keeps abreast of competitive media strengths and selling techniques to know what’s developing in the market and track other media sales against TDMN.
Minimum Qualifications:
MUST HAVE A HUNTER MENTALITY! 2-5 years sales experience, media sales experience preferred. Bilingual preferred (Spanish/English) communication skills and organizational skills. Ability to maintain and increase market share in a competitive industry. Superior customer contact and knowledge of customer activities within assigned territory must be a continuing process. Ability to develop peer network within the newspaper industry. Ability to exhibit leadership skills with peers on sales staff. Superior skills in leveraging long standing relationships with key client contacts to grow business.
